Hi-Q joins BMT Group Limited. International design, engineering and risk management consultancy, BMT Group Ltd, has announced a strategic addition to its group of companies with the acquisition of Hi-Q Systems. The complementary products and services, and the strength of BMT’s balance sheet, will provide additional benefit and confidence to Hi-Q’s customers. The acquisition will assist Hi-Q in continuing its growth within its core markets as well as providing entry to additional markets. Hi-Q will operate as an autonomous company within the BMT Group. This sits well with Hi-Q’s customer friend role and customers can be assured of Hi-Q’s continued independence and impartiality. 

Hi-Q develops User and System Requirements for the Helicopter Engines Integrated Project Team (HE IPT).  The HE IPT is responsible for the allocation and management of mission essential engines for the MOD’s helicopter fleet. Hi-Q’ winning formula was once again used to great effect for the production of the requirements for an engine tracking system for the HE IPT.  The well proven Model Driven RequirementsTM Methodology helped deliver User and Systems Requirement Documents in only 10 weeks from project start up. Excellent stakeholder engagement helped speed the process and ensured complete buy-in throughout.

Hi-Q develops requirement specifications and implementation options papers for the Attack Helicopter Integrated Project Team (HE IPT). Hi-Q was contracted to investigate and specify the requirement for an interface between the Work Recording and Assets Management (WRAM) application and the Management of the Defence Inventory (MJDI) system in order to deliver information exchange.  In addition Hi-Q was tasked with identifying the potential implementation options for achieving the information exchange.  As well as examining the direct application to application messaging, Hi-Q took a more holistic look at the requirements and recommended some SOA type potential solutions.  The project successfully delivered to time, cost and quality despite exceedingly tight timelines.

A400M Logistics Information Systems Requirements defined by Hi-Q
The A400M IPT, following DLO Strategic Intent, need to develop a close and integrated relationship with Industry to incentivise Industry to deliver greater availability, whilst shouldering appropriate technical and financial risks. Hi-Q, using their knowledge and experience of Partnering Arrangements, assisted the A400M IPT and Airbus Military Sociedad Limitada (AMSL) develop and define the system functions, through MODAF Modelling, and corresponding system requirements. These requirements will assist the A400M integrated support logistic information system achieve its aim.

Hi-Q develops URD and SRD for Type 45 Destroyer (T45) Logistic Information Management System (IMS). Hi-Q has been contracted by the T45 IPT to develop a URD and SRD for the T45 Logistic IMS. The IMS will provide functionality and information to support the T45 Contracting for Availability (CfA) arrangements. Both the URD and SRD are being developed in accordance with the LA IPT Requirement Management procedures utilising Hi-Q’s Model Driven RequirementsTM approach and MODAF.

Hi-Q develops requirements for Bowman Configuration Management Hi-Q has won several contracts in support of revising the URD and developing the SRD for the Bowman Configuration Management (BCM) Process. The worked used the Model Driven RequirementsTM method and developed MODAF models as a baseline from which to derive the requirements. Additional tasks included investigations into real world issues relating to implementation of the BCM process.

Hi-Q delivers requirements to AVSI to support Contracting for Availability Hi-Q has assisted the Armoured Vehicle Support Initiative (AVSI), the organisation responsible for the Armoured Fighting Vehicle fleet of equipments, in defining a URD and SRD for an interface solution which exchanges information between MOD and the selected Industry Partner; BAE Systems. The captured requirements set will guide the solution provider to deliver a swift, seamless and integrated solution, which fully supports the Contracting for Availability Contract and business needs.

Hi-Q partner with Glue: to define the LA IPT Technical Architecture (TA). Hi-Q recently partnered with Glue in order to develop a suite of documents to define the future state of the LA IPT TA. Covering a number of key areas to the IPT the documents took into consideration current investments and policies to outline the design of the future TA. Recommendations were also provided on the re-use of current technologies, the best of breed technologies which fulfill shortfalls in capability and a pragmatic implementation roadmap.
