Datalink engineer
A systems engineer with extensive knowledge of tactical datalink (TDL) technologies is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Link 11, 16 and 22 and a good knowledge of network management, design and network integration across TDL networks.
The candidate must have a good understanding of Multi Link Operational Architectures, data forwarding and concurrent operations and must also understand how TDLs can be gatewayed into the wider communications infrastructure in accordance with the Government Information Infrastructure (GII) initiative. Accordingly, knowledge of military trunk radio systems is also required (in particular Bowman and Falcon). The candidate must also understand connectivity of Air and Maritime Mobile Headquarters connectivity to both mobile and fixed networks.
In addition to the domain expertise, the successful candidate must have experience of the application of MODAF to elicit both User and Systems Requirements for both the network and the platforms being considered.
Application Architect
Our Client, a major defence contractor based in the South East is seeking an experienced customer facing Applications Architect in a permanent capacity to cover bid support, design of new software developments and performing enhancements to existing applications.
The successful candidate will be proficient in SQL Server 7, Active Server Pages, Oracle and / or Java, and experienced in a customer facing role.
Experience of the following would also be an advantage : Oracle Forms and Reports , Enterprise Java, Continuous Integration, Web Services and SOA, and BEA Weblogic.
Business Change Architect
Our Client, a blue-chip organisation based in the South East is seeking a Business Change Architect to support its expanding rail sector business.
An expert facilitator with excellent people skills and a tactful manner, the successful candidate will be able to actively operate and influence at all levels within the target organisation. With correspondingly strong analytical skills, the candidate must also be able to identify all key stake holders and to subsequently work with them to define the information requirements of the target organisation. Analysis of legacy information systems will then be required to determine the existing information available and hence the delta between the information currently available and that required.
The successful candidate will then be required to develop an information architecture that will ensure that the target organisation has the right information at the right time to support efficient business operation and growth.
From this the candidate must be capable of developing a physical information infrastructure and to gain buy-in from all stakeholders for its development and deployment. This would need to include a costed business case demonstrating the return on investment that would result from such an investment
Thus a proven ability to both develop and gain approval for major information system implementation is a prerequisite for the position. The nature of the task is such that our Client is willing to consider applications from both contractors and those seeking a permanent position.
Solutions Engineering Manager
Our southern England based company, a blue-chip organisation with interests spanning areas as diverse as defence, air traffic management (ATM) and the rail industry is seeking high quality engineering professionals to fill key positions in support of our aggressive growth plans.
At least degree qualified with a solid engineering pedigree gained preferably but not necessarily within either the defence, ATC, security and resilience or rail industries, the successful candidates will have a strong appreciation of all engineering disciplines (systems integration, software, ILS etc) and will have a proven track record in both defining and delivering to cost, quality and schedule the engineering strategy for complex multi-disciplinary programmes and bids, including the technical and engineering management of sub-contractors and partners. A proven ability to think laterally and to provide novel approaches to engineering and business issues would be a highly significant advantage. Knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle is required from Engineering Estimating, Bid Generation, Requirements Definition through to Design, Verification and Validation, Manufacture and Support along with good knowledge of any industry specific engineering development lifecycles.
A ‘big picture’ individual, the successful candidate will have excellent presentational and inter-personal skills and will be highly effective at interfacing with team members, senior management (including the Heads of Engineering and Business Development), customers and suppliers alike. Able to provide active support to the business outside of the core engineering remit, the successful candidates will also be able to significantly contribute to both bid and business strategy.
